NaNoWriMo: Day 19

Amazing, it's 1500 hrs, and nobody has made a post yet.

For anyone reading this from outside Edmonton, it's kinda chilly here (-19 with a -29 wind chill in case you're interested).

This reminds me of an idea I had for a story while I was still doing tech. support for a company called ComCast (cable T.V. & Internet provider in the U.S.). It seems as if one of the residential technicians, who if I remember correctly was in Texas, told the customer that the reason their internet response was slow was because it was getting cold outside (it was somewhere around 55 or 60 Fahrenheit). Being a person who is unable to suffer a fool, and who at the time wanted to stir things up. I politely informed the customer that she had been lied to, as it seemed the technician was too lazy to do their job. At first she didn't believe me, but I explained to her that the current temperature in Edmonton at the time was -32 Celsius. Once she understood how to convert to fahrenheit, she was slightly less than impressed.

Anyway, that has absolutely nothing to do with NaNoWriMo, but what the heck.

Hoping to get around 2000 words today, so we'll see what it ends up being as I got a slow start.

Have fun everybody - not much longer left!

  1. Haven't posted since I've been cleaning all day, with a slight break for an eggnog latte. This is both a good and bad thing, as I have now discovered I love eggnog latte's, and they are most likely destructive to my massive weight loss goal. Oh well! Back to skim lattes next week.

Am also preparing Cincinatti Turkey Chili this evening, so the house smells amazing. Yes, as a Texan, the mere thought of foreign chili should repel me, but it's actually pretty good. You serve it over pasta, and it has weird things in it like allspice and cider vinegar. But so yummy! Hope all you Nanos are kicking frigid butt today. :)

Tomorrow's coming in a few minutes and then we have 10 days left. Yikes!

  3. Thanks, Laini! That Turkey Chili sounds really good :)

I only got a little bit of writing in today, with the con + cleaning after a lazy roommate taking up all my day.

    Sitting at 32,006 words.
