As I said I would last meeting, I'm posting my email up for everyone.

For those concerned about sending me your work, I will delete it afterwards. Also, you can send it in PDF format. I'm not sure if Microsoft Word creates PDF's, but I know OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org/download/) will allow you to. It's what I use, and it's also free.
I am uncertain of my availability due to current classes for meetings, but, as was stated last meeting, I can be a critique partner. So email me, if you're interested.
In other news, I think it is important to be aware (for anyone who isn't) of SOPA and PIPA, and how they may potentially effect writers and other creative people. Both are acts that the US government is currently trying to pass to help protect against piracy. This sounds great, until you really look at it's implementation. I think this fits well with Natasha's previous post on Fahrenheit 451.

ReplyDeleteI see where the potential for Big Brother lies with the shutting down of websites (SOPA), but at the same time, I get that it's about getting bloggers to be more accountable to the things they post...I've never been really thrilled when my stuff has been pirated, but it's kind of a weird, backhanded compliment...I'm not sure where the happy medium lies.
I'll probably lose my Rebel Without a Clue membership, but I think the internet does need limits. It's been very Wild, wild west, and I for one, wouldn't mind seeing a sheriff. :-)
