How to get rid of writers' block?
I often times get bogged down by too much information that I collect for my writing, and I fall into the writers' block. Ideas dry up and the ink of my pen runs out! How can one overcome the writers' block?

Honestly, sometimes I find it's just a matter of pushing through the pain. Sit and write. Maybe the first day you only get a sentence, the second day 1/2 a sentence, but if you keep going, eventually, you'll find a rhythm and the block will leave.

    1. Mohamed, I try and forget the pressure to write something "good". Even if I start with "It was a dark and stormy night..." I eventually get into a groove where I'm shutting out that inner critic. For me, most of my blocks are due to my inner critic insisting that I come up with something brilliant.

Kevin J. Anderson had a quote I really like: "It doesn't have to be good, but it has to be done."

A book that I've got on my to-read list is "On Writer's Block" by Victoria Nelson. It's been highly recommended and it might be worth a look.

  3. I haven't had it often, but when I do get it for a particular story, I switch to a different piece of work and that helps a lot - I've found it has to be something quite different though.
