Summit Studios Contest

Summit Studios, is a small Canadian publishing company that is perhaps best known for the humour anthologies they publish.

They wanted me to let you all know that they have recently organized a story contest with the aim of gathering new material for four new anthologies that they plan to publish in 2012 and 2013. The contest will be running until February 29, 2012. This is the third such contest we've hosted during our eight year tenure.

This time around they're giving away $3,000 in cash prizes to nine winners in four distinct categories, including a $1,000 Grand Prize. The previous Grand Prize winner was Lois Gordon of the Writers' Circle of Durham Region for her story "Antler Girls," which appeared with some two dozen other stories in the 2010 anthology "Never Trust a Smiling Bear."

Anyone who is interested can visit our web site (www.summitstudios.biz) to download Story Contest Guidelines and to familiarize themselves with the types of stories we like to publish. They will find several previously published stories under some of the author profiles in our Writers' Spotlight section.

For writers who do not win a prize, there is still a good chance we will publish their story if it fits our parameters. Writers maintain copyright to their work, and we pay a minimum $100 honorarium for every story that we publish.
