From the NaNoWriMo Folks

Greetings, citizens of NaNoLand!

As creative as you all are, I know you're also math-minded. You write 50,000 words in one month, at a rate of 1,667 words a day. And you know better than anyone the pricelessness of that literary mission.

Here's another equation for you: OLL needs just over 3,000 votes in 48 hours to contend for a $100,000 grant from Chase Community Giving. Yes, $100,000. That is nearly equal to the annual budget for our Young Writers Program. That would pay for two-years' worth of nanowrimo.org's servers.

But the intangible impact of this grant means so much more. Another generation of young writers falling madly in love with noveling. Hundreds of thousands of new manuscripts. Hundreds of thousands more people just like you and me, wondering, "If I can do that, what next?"

You change the world every November with your novels. Please help change ours by voting today.

With high hopes for our creative future,

Lindsey Grant
NaNoWriMo Program Director
