A Little Advice, Please

Is it considered a faux-pas to enter the same short story into two different contests at the same time?

  1. I want to say go ahead and enter both because they're contests, not submissions, but I'm not certain...

  2. It might be stipulated in the submission guidelines for the contest, but if it's not specifically stated you might be able to get away with it. The only gaff you risk is if you win both contests and have to say no to one or the other because a magazine buys the copyright.
