Call for Submissions: EWG Library Anthology

EWG Library-themed anthology
Word limit: 5,000
Submission deadline: November 30, 2014.
To be published on Smashwords and possibly in paperback (self-published).

We're looking for any story that involves libraries in some form or another. It can be set in a library, on a book shelf in a library, feature a librarian as the main character, or even feature a library as the main character. You can interpret the theme any number of ways, but the spirit of the anthology is to celebrate the rich scope of knowledge and education that can be gleaned from the hallowed book-laden halls. While a fictional library might be haunted, we will likely stay away from stories that proclaim libraries to be downright evil (unless it's tongue-in-cheek). We encourage you to explore libraries from all over the world as well as local.

Please note that since many different word processors add their own flavours of invisible characters to your prose, to make the Smashwords formatting easier for the editors we may request you "nuke" the final version before publication. This involves pasting your story into a .TXT file to remove all formatting, then adding only the necessary formatting back in MS Word.

For the editorial feedback we will be using the track changes feature in MS word. This is an industry standard that any aspiring writer needs to be familiar with. No, this is not the same as openoffice, google docs, ommwriter or other word processors.

Please send your submissions in DOC, DOCX or RTF format to Hal (halfriesen [at] gmail [dot] com) and Brad OH Inc (schisobelj [at] hotmail [dot] com) with the subject line "EWG ANTH SUB: [your story title], [word count]".
