Hal, I hear you on the confusion--just finished my daily goal (at 7806)and am sssoo brain dead. I promised myself I'd edit a chapter a week of this other manuscript and the week's almost up, but seriously, by the time I'm done my pages, all I want to do is watch Columbo for the rest of the day...
Well after a 'day off' I got my word count today. 750 words. My "dick and jane" screenplay is actually kinda fun to do. It's very quiet so far but as long as I can see the movie in my head, I don't really mind that. The hardest part of this for me IS writing "see spot run" and being ok with it. But, honestly, even if I thought that what I was writing was terrific, I'd still think it was garbage by the time I got to the second draft. Re-writing is writing, right? As far as I'm concerned, we're all amazing simply by virtue of the fact that we're doing this...period. You guys are Rock Stars. Here's a quote from my current spiritual guru:

Well I didn't get as much done today as I did for the last few days, as I started reading this thing in the morning, and revised a huge chunk of what I had already done - probably shouldn't have done this, but it now makes a lot more sense. But I only did 1002 words today.
It doesn't look like 1002 words but that's what the computer says, so I guess I'll have to trust it. It's 1 1/2 pages single spaced, so maybe it's counting things differently.
Not sure if I'll get much done tomorrow, but we'll see.
aw, I know, I wanted to maybe work on revising my other novel, but it's not gonna happen. Greg, I agree. There's a booth in the Seattle SF museum where you can make your own rock band and music video. Any suggestions for a band name?
