Who knew rewarding myself with an episode of Columbo would prove such a great incentive? I guess eating Royal Pizza at 6:00 am also has its benefits--sitting at 12, 040 (gotta count EVERY word, right?).
As bad as the writing is (seriously, some sentences don't even make sense), it's so worth the effort just so I can tag in and say, "YES! I DID IT! Goal met!"
For those using www.nanowrimo.org to track their progress--is anyone else becoming addicted to the stats page?

It's 10:40 AM and I've been at this now for 2 hours steady (gotta make up for yesterday's slacking off). Shooting for 1800 today which will just get me back on track.
ReplyDeleteDUN...AND DUNNER (how's that for a play on bad 90's movie titles?) It's kinda how I feel though. I'm staying clear of the nanowrimo site right now so I don't start using for yet another distraction. I am actually liking some of the stuff I'm writing, but then there's the other stuff. But ya know what? If Fluffy can do it, I can do it!!! I mean, after all, Fluffy is a total P*$$y!! So, 750words today. I'd hoped to do more but I just don't have the time. Go for it Howard. But be nice to yourself too...what am I saying...nice to yourself??? THIS IS WAR!!!
ReplyDeleteoh, I should have written...750 words completed. Day over.
ReplyDeleteWow, worked for 6 hours straight. Not sure what I'm doing right but the pages are filling up really fast. I'm still a long way behind Natasha, but now sitting at:
ReplyDelete**** Day 6 **** +3408 = 9235 Words ****
I'm quitting for the evening, got to go and cook din-din, walk the dog, etc.
Still recovering from my 6 hour session, and got to wondering if the people who first came up with the idea for NaNoWriMo were "Mork and Mindy" fans?
ReplyDeleteNano Nano
Nanu Nanu... Shazbot, now there's a reference you don't hear every day!!
ReplyDeleteI need an incentive like Columbo... hrmmmm...
ReplyDeleteThe stats page is sweet! Although for me it looks like I'm just behind since I type late at night when it technically counts as the following day, and I always look just a little bit below. I guess eventually I'll have to rectify that if I'm going to finish by Nov. 30 at midnight...
I be at 10631 words. Yes, I'm counting every freakin' one, and even considering counting the words I write on this blog O_o.
Great job, dudes -- Howard, that's an epic feat of pun-deserving proportions.
